I am graduate of a university speech therapy department. For more than 10 years I have been working with children within that department – children who have various problems from child autism to cerebral palsy. One day I was asked to lead a consultation with a student from Step Up. I arrived for this ‘one-off’ meeting and… stayed.
Why? Because I understood that I was needed, because I had never seen such a desire to study, and because there is no such thing as someone else’s child – even if they are adults.
