Step Up students visit Murmansk
At the start of May, a group of students from the Step Up Centre visited friends from Murmansk with Artem, the coordinator of the HandsOn Workshop.
The Centre for the development of family structures held a three-day meeting with students from correctional orphanages in Severomorsk and Olegenorsk, as well as with the Step Up team.
Our students brought birdhouse kits with them, and held a workshop with a prize for whoever could assemble the birdhouse the fastest. The winners also got to take the assembled products home with them.
According to the students’ stories, the programme was interesting and active: they met with employees from a bank, took part in a pastry-making masterclass, took an excursion on the Lenin icebreaker and played team games and motivational exercises.
Thanks to Natalia Zaitseva and Larisa Bobrova for inviting us and organising the camp.
It is really lovely when our students have friends in other cities, and everyone always loves the Hands from There workshop: the chance to make things with your own hands 🙂
